Rotor brakes HSS
Rotor Brakes for High Speed Shaft:- BCHM 90 CRT With the increase in the capacity and the consequent increase in investments for wind turbine generators, the need for protection against uncontrolled overspeed and its disastrous consequences has become paramount. Stromag’s wide range of rotor brakes mounted onto the high speed shaft is the perfect solution. The hydraulic fail safe SHD brake range is a well proven product and in active service with many leading wind turbines manufacturers. With its unique design and its numerous technical advantages, the SHD range is unique compared to other calipers available in the market today. The active rotor brake callipers BCHM and BCH are especially fixed calliper brakes are designed and built for specific and fast braking of the rotor shaft on the high speed side. Characterised by their compact structure, simple construction, high reliability and heat capacity and favourable cost effectiveness, these brakes are particularly easy to maintain. With metal sintered linings that are capable of absorbing high braking energy, these active control brakes are fast and safe. The patented wear adjustment system “CRT” guarantees constantly short activation time. If the integrated sensor indicates that the wear limit has been reached, the friction linings can be replaced quickly and easily ensuring short downtimes for the turbine. The patented CR system: The CR system is a device within the brake which guarantees a constant opening stroke throughout the complete lifetime of the linings, irrespective of the state of wear. In addition, the system operates as an automatic wear compensator and provides an automatic centering function. Temperature sensor: The temperature sensor reports the attainment of the permitted brake disc temperature for restarting. Wear contact: The wear contact has up to two signalling contacts. Warning issued upon attainment of 50% of wear and issuing of a message if a lining replacement is required. |
