Limit switches are necessary for the autonomous limitation of motions on cranes, hoisting gear, and similar materials handling equipment.

Series 110 spur gear limit switches is auxilary current geared cam switch with the following features:

  • Robust limit switches in glass fibre reinforced polycarbonate plastic housing for application under extreme mechanical conditions.
  • Pre-tensioned toothed gears can offer backlash-free drive of potentiometers and single turn encoders.
  • Gears are dry running moulded (acetal copolymer) or bronze gears
  • Microswitch as snap or push contact, normally closed or normally open contact with forced or sometimes form-fit opening
  • Switching point distance adjustable in 4° steps within the usable revolutions
  • Mounting position as desired can be provided
  • Housing and protection class IP 65
  • Continuous service temperature 40 °C to +85 °C; other temperatures on demand
  • The auxiliary current geared cam limit switch consists of a gear and switch part connected firmly to each other.
  • The cam discs with 40° stopping cams fixed on the switch shaft to actuate the contacts can be adjusted infinitely and independently of each other.
  • In relation to the required contact arrangement cam discs can be supplied as standard with 40° or 180° stopping cams
  • Special cam discs can be designed as a tailor made solution.
  • Chemical resistance of the housing to diluted mineral and organic acids; insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons, ether, alcohol (except methyl alcohol), greases, and oils

Series 100 spur gear limit switches are designed in compliance with the following directives:

  • Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
  • Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC
  • EMC Directive 2004/108/EC
  • Basic designs of this series are approved under the CCC terms for the Chinese market.

The design was based on the standards

  • EN 60529
