SIDEOS

The Stromag assurance of safety is further enhanced with SIDEOS. 

SIDEOS is an integrated solution for monitoring hoisting functions / speeds of cranes. 

The design and development of SIDEOS has been driven by customer demand and in close cooperation with the customers. Presently, SIDEOS V3 is the latest implementation of the SIDEOS technology.

SIDEOS integrates the strengths of Stromag Technology in Gear Cam Limit Switches, Disc Brakes and Control Systems for a unique safety driver for our customers in the crane industry and end users

SIDEOS is critical to protect against the following hoisting faults:

• OVERSPEED: When hoisting speed crosses thresholds set by controller for Overspeed (e.g. 1.2 to 1.25 times of rated speed of the hoist) for both low speed and high speed
• STATIC SLIPPING FAULT: When there is a load movement in spite of a “load stop” instruction
• DYNAMIC SLIPPING FAULT: When rotation direction is different from the one required
• NO SIGNAL
